While anger is a normal human emotion, when it gets out of control it can quickly become destructive – both for the person who’s getting angry and those around them. At this weekly support group, we help men understand and identify what triggers their anger, and learn techniques to manage it effectively.
Anger can be quite a complex thing – and it can have a very negative impact on a person’s life, from their physical and mental health, to their job prospects and relationships. The term ‘anger management’ is about gaining a better understanding of why anger happens, and what to do about it.
Through anger management, we can learn what’s behind our anger, what triggers it, and how to spot early warning signs.
Our Anger Management support group is an informal group that get together each week. In each session, participants share experiences, give voice to their feelings, and work together to find ways to manage. By teaching techniques to cool down and de-stress, we can help participants to gain better self-awareness, control their behaviour, learn how to be assertive without being aggressive, and enjoy better relationships.
