Lounge Chat support group

Support in caring for a suicidal person

Is someone you care about feeling suicidal or has had a recent suicide attempt?

If someone you care for attempts suicide, or has known suicidal thoughts, you may not know where to go for support.

Join our group to share your concerns and get help and support.

The ‘Lounge Chat’ provides a safe space to share and be supported in a confidential environment with others who are also caring for a relative who feels suicidal.

The following is covered in the group:

  • Discuss how to talk about a suicide attempt to family members/social circle and the person who attempted suicide
  • Psycho-education about why people attempt suicide
  • How to talk about safety
  • Resources/referrals to support family members and the suicidal person
  • Looking after yourself

How our support group works

This support group provides a safe space to share and be supported in a confidential environment with others who have either experienced a suicide attempt by a relative or are living with a suicidal relative. Psycho-education covers why people attempt suicide, how to talk about safety, and access to resources and referrals for supporting the suicidal person as well as family members.
