Accidental Counsellor training

This four-hour course is delivered by qualified Lifeline trainers, and helps equip any member of the community to identify those in crisis and how to respond. Think of it as mental health first-aid.

With the rapidly developing circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus presenting the Accidental Counsellor workshop face-to-face is no longer possible due to government restrictions around social gatherings.

However, the social, economic and health impact of the virus are having unprecedented multiplier effects through all aspects of our lives and impacting on our health and wellbeing.

Now more than ever we need to develop capability around supporting people with mental health challenges

Uncertainty and anxiety are being experienced by many as people worry about jobs, businesses, family, health, friends and particularly elderly relatives. People are putting life ‘on hold’ and experiencing sadness and isolation.

Our next Accidental Counsellor workshop will be conducted via ZOOM over two nights. So you can learn how to recognise, respond and refer without leaving your home. The cost of this workshop is subsidised to $100 (usually costs $150).
