EVERY DAY, LIFELINE IS SAVING LIVES IN OUR COMMUNITY.
Over the last 12 months, ‘normal’ life has been in a constant state of flux. From snap lockdowns to job losses to relationship breakdowns, the pandemic has continued to impact lives in critical ways. This ongoing uncertainty can be difficult to deal with. As an essential service, Lifeline Northern Beaches continues to support people in crisis and at risk of suicide.
Your donation to Lifeline Northern Beaches enables us to continue delivering local crisis support and suicide prevention services to meet community demand. And demand continues to increase.
In 2020, with the support of our community, Lifeline Northern Beaches answered more than 74,000 crisis calls and more than 40,000 Lifeline Texts; held 2,500 counselling and financial counselling sessions; and trained 80 new Crisis Supporters. It costs Lifeline $39 to answer a call that could save a life.
This past year calls to Lifeline’s 24-hour telephone line 13 11 14 reached record levels – a crisis call every 30 seconds. This means that our resources are stretched, and someone may be missing out on the support that could save their life.
You never know when someone will need Lifeline’s support through a difficult period. It could be your partner, your child, colleague, or best friend. It could even be you.
Make a huge impact on the life of someone in our community.
Donate to our 2021 Annual Appeal, and you’ll increase Lifeline Northern Beaches’ capacity to provide life-saving crisis support services to people right here in our community. Your donation supports this vital work.
Donate today. Together we can save lives.
Every donation directly supports our core services: suicide prevention, counselling and financial counselling, and donations over $2 are tax deductible.
