The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is funded by the Australian Government. This initiative is designed to establish links between people who are living in a Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) and their local community. It’s a program Lifeline Northern Beaches is proud to be part of, and a great opportunity to create connections with older community members.
Through this scheme, Lifeline volunteer visitors are currently visiting isolated people in 16 RACFs from Mosman to Seaforth to Collaroy, every fortnight. Our visitors provide company and companionship for these residents; listening to their stories and experiences, and often forging genuine friendships.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer Community Visitor and have a spare hour once a fortnight, we’d love to hear from you – please use the email address below to express your interest.
Drop us a line on (02) 9949-5522 or email our Program Manager Rosanna Commisso at rosanna.commisso@lifelinenb.org.au
Rosanna is available 9am-4pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you call outside these times, please leave a message and we will get back to you.
