COVID-19 Update: Counselling is still available from Lifeline Northern Beaches – with face-to-face sessions resuming from 11 October 2021. We are also offering counselling via Zoom as telehealth appointments.
Our counsellors are available for specialised, face-to-face counselling sessions – both during and after business hours, and on weekends.
Sometimes people are connected to our counsellors after making a call to our 24/7 Telephone Crisis Support line; but you can also call us to arrange a consultation (no referral from a medical practitioner is needed).
We have counsellors available in Balgowlah and Mosman.
Counselling very often involves a process of clarifying the issues, encouraging self-awareness, exploring available options, and developing coping strategies. As well as helping clients to develop the behaviour patterns, skills, tools and techniques to deal with their issues, our face to face counsellors may also refer clients to additional specialists if needed.
Our counsellors have a range of qualifications and many of them have specialist knowledge and experience in specific areas. This enables them to help people from a wide variety of backgrounds, and with a wide variety of issues, including:
