Accidental Counsellor training

This four-hour course is delivered by qualified Lifeline trainers, and helps equip any member of the community to identify those in crisis and how to respond. Think of it as mental health first-aid.

Lifeline Northern Beaches’ Accidental Counsellor training can once again be attended as face-to-face sessions (or Zoom). Check out the dates below to book your spot.

The Accidental Counsellor training will equip you to:

  • RECOGNISE when others are struggling
  • RESPOND appropriately with confidence and
  • REFER someone to the best community-based help on the northern beaches

Now more than ever we need to be alert to common signs or behaviour changes that may occur when someone is struggling due to a personal crisis.

Uncertainty and anxiety are being experienced by many as people worry about jobs, businesses, family, health, friends and particularly elderly relatives. People are putting life ‘on hold’ and experiencing sadness and isolation.

Our community Accidental Counsellor workshops are conducted at Lifeline Northern Beaches in Balgowlah or virtually via Zoom.

If you’re looking for training for your organisation, please contact our Training team on the email address below so we can discuss your needs.
