Crisis Supporter Workplace Training

Our Telephone Crisis Supporter Workplace Training is a Nationally Recognised Training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to work as Crisis Supporter on our national 13 11 14 line.

ABOUT CRISIS SUPPORTER WORKPLACE TRAINING (CSWT)

Lifeline Northern Beaches delivers the training for CHCSS00113 Crisis Support Skill Set qualification on behalf of Lifeline Australia RTO 88036.

Our Crisis Supporter Workplace Training is a Nationally Recognised Training course which is based on adult learning principles and experiential learning.

The Crisis Supporter Workplace Training is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they require to undertake the crisis supporter role.

 

Our next volunteer training intake is open and accepting applications – please check the eligibility criteria and then use the form below to submit your expression of interest. Training is a blend of face-to-face and remote learning.

Eligibility Criteria:

 

  1. Do you live within the Local Government Areas of Mosman or Northern Beaches or the suburbs of Cremorne, Neutral Bay, Cammeray, or Kirribilli?
  2. Are you able to commit to 14 months of study (includes Internship) as outlined below?
  3. Are you able to commit to a minimum of one four-hour shift per fortnight for two years post training?
  4. Are at least 18-years-old?

Information about the CSWT training:

 

The training comprises three stages: blended learning, student placement and internship. Essentially this provides students with a progression from a supervised role, to an Accredited Crisis Supporter role.

Stage 1 – Blended learning (e-learning + face-to-face [or Zoom])
Stage 2 – Student Placement
Stage 3 – Internship

The training takes place over 14 months. Successful completion results in Accreditation as a Lifeline Crisis Supporter and obtaining a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in:

  • CHCCCS003 Increase the safety of individuals at risk of suicide
  • CHCCCS019 Recognise and respond to crisis situations
  • CHCCCS028 Provide client-centred support to people in crisis

COST of CSWT Training: $750, to be paid (in full) once you have been accepted into the course.

Please note: Lifeline Northern Beaches subsidises the cost of the CSWT Training course, however a student contribution is required as outlined above.
