Grief & Loss Support group

There are many different forms of loss. Feelings of loss and grief can be experienced after we lose someone or something we care about. For example, the death of a loved one; the loss of a relationship; the loss of independence; loss of a pet; loss of a job; the loss of a marriage; or the loss of important possessions.

Grief and loss are part of life's experience.

The grief we experience in these instances is not an illness - it is a normal response to a life event that everyone must face at some point. It takes time to adjust and to learn to live our life without that person, thing or way of life…

The strength to move on

This support group allows people to understand grief and its many forms.

Its purpose is to equip members with a sense of how to use their strengths in order to move on to the next phase of their life.

The course incorporates:

  • Understanding grief

  • Anniversary dates

  • Anger and guilt

  • Experiences of grief

  • Physical and emotional responses

  • Recovery

  • And lessons learned.

This is an open group and people can join at any time. The group runs subject to demand, and the duration of the group depends on the particular needs of the participants. If there is insufficient demand for the group to run, Face-To-Face Counselling is offered as an alternative.
